What are the benefits of membership in this organization? The Geography Alliances, which operate as grassroots organizations, along with Education & Children's Programs and other key partners, work to promote geography education at local, state, and national levels. Your local alliance can help with grants, provides teaching resources, workshops and programs. Membership of the Geography Alliance Network is handled by your state alliance.

The KGA Resource Center and Library offer a wide range of teaching and instructional materials including: books, games (educational board and media games for in-class use), teaching kits, cd-roms, blackline masters (for overhead projectors), discovery trunks (grab bags of items promoting local, national and international areas of geographic interest), teaching kits (compilations of subject-specific teaching materials and resources), video tapes, and maps.
Does the organization hold an annual conference? The KGA has an annual conference featuring programs, speakers, presentations and workshops. No 2008 conference dates have been posted on the site as of yet.
Does the organization have a companion group at the state level? Yes. The Kansas membership is the Kansas Geographic Alliance located at Fort Hays State University.
What are the costs of becoming a member? There is no cost to join the KGA.
Are student memberships available? If so, what is the cost? The registration form asks for school affiliation but does not address education students. I have emailed KGA and await their reply.
